The all new Skoda Superb, the Czech manufacturer’s flagship sedan has been launched at a starting price of Rs 22.68 lacs (ex-showroom, Mumbai) in an event held at Mumbai today. The new Skoda is built on the same MQB platform as the Audi A3 and its younger sibling, Octavia.
The car has undergone drastic cosmetic upgrades, borrowing cues from the breathtaking Vision C concept making Skoda’s new flagship slightly longer (28 mm) and wider (47mm) than it’s predecessor. A very muscular well-sculpted bonnet, 3D headlamps and stylish horizontal LED fog lamps are a few remarkable additions seen on the front.
Given the huge size, the car is very roomy and offers ample space. The cabin looks classy and very premium. It also gets the newest gizmos including a CANTON audio system, an eight inch Smart-link infotainment system and a three zone climate control. Under its hood, the luxury sedan gets a 173bhp, 1.8 litre TSI petrol engine or a 178bhp 2.0-liter TDI diesel engine. Packed with features, the new Skoda all set to compete with the likes ofToyota Camry, Hyundai Sonata and the Audi A3/A4.
