Skoda Octavia will soon be updated to the current generation international model. The launch will take place in India on July 13 and Skoda has already started running teaser campaigns on social media platforms. Skoda will stream the live webcast of the launch event on 13th July.
Bookings have already been started while all of the details regarding the new car can be had from a nearest Skoda dealership. They have updated the exterior as well as the interior of the Octavia. The front will now display a butterfly grill with split headlamps that makes it the most unique sedan of its segment.
The new Octavia comes with updated bumpers that adds more premium essence to the car. The outside rear view mirrors and 17-inch alloy wheels also adds to the bold character of this car.
The 8-inch infotainment system on the inside is also new and gets WLAN connectivity. The international version even comes with autonomous parking system that may get carries to the top spec car. All of the interior lights are LED’s while you will even find two umbrella’s hidden in the back doors of the Octavia.
Skoda’s current set of engines will continue to serve the duty on the new version. The 1.4L, 4-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine on the Octavia is good for 138 BHP and 250 Nm of torque. The bigger 1.8L petrol is good for 177 BHP and 250 Nm of torque.
If petrol engine is not your priority, going for the 1968 cc, 4-cylinder diesel engine is the only option. It is good for 140 BHP at 4000 rpm and 320 Nm at 1750 rpm. The engine comes mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox and can even be had with DSG transmission.
