Skoda Kodiaq was recently launched in India for INR 34.49 lakh (ex-showroom). It competes with likes of Toyota Fortuner, Ford Endeavour, Isuzu MU-X, Honda CR-V and Volkswagen Tiguan in its segment. Kodiaq was first unveiled internationally in Berlin, Germany. The car possesses a huge character with its 4697 mm of length.
What came pretty surprising was the introduction of a single variant for the Indian market, that too fully loaded with features and carrying a seven seat configuration. It comes powered by a 2.0L, four cylinder diesel engine producing 150 HP and 340 NM of torque. The engine comes mated to a 7-speed DSG unit. Based on MQB platform and unlike other SUVs, last row seats of Kodiaq are even useful for adults.
No option for a petrol engine was given while all-wheel drive comes as standard on Kodiaq .The car gets more closer to the Octavia than the Superb and features a bold fascia with all Black grill and full LED headlights with a bit of attitude added to them. Loaded with 18-inch wheels and typical SUV character, Kodiaq is one great option for those who love Skoda products for their built quality.
The design of this SUV, along with the plans of Skoda to expand worldwide makes it a good option for a Coupe variant in the coming future. The company in undergoing a feasibility study in order to launch the same in the US. Skoda Kodiaq measures 4697 mm in length, 1882 mm in width and 1676 mm in height.
Skoda offers host of features like hands free parking, sunroof, ambient lighting, infotainment system with navigation and umbrella in the door pockets. Fuel efficiency figure for the car is still missing while buyers may feel disappointed with the amount of power on offer from Kodiaq. Segment rivals like Ford Endeavour 3.2L claims around 197 BHP and 470 Nm of torque in this segment and price point.
