Skoda Octavia RS 245 Sold Out in India; Bookings Closed

According to recent reports, all the 200 units of the Skoda Octavia RS 245 have been sold out in India. The brand has completely sold out the allocated units of the sedan for the Indian markets while the new orders have been closed by the brand. It is one of the most sought-after sedans in India that has been highly appreciated by the Indian audience.

Though the brand has registered all the 200 units of the Skoda Octavia RS 245, there have been some order withdrawals as well. This certainly means that the customers can still reach out to the dealerships and get their hands on the new-gen sedan.

The Skoda Octavia RS 245 was launched in India at a price tag of INR 35.99 lakh, carrying a premium of almost INR 10 lakhs over the 2017’s version of the Octavia RS. Since the sedan is imported to the Indian shores as a CBU, the addition of the import duties further explains the heavy price tag.

The bookings for the Skoda Octavia RS 245 were commenced back on March 1, 2020, at the brand’s official website while Zac Hollis, Director, Sales, Service and Marketing, Skoda Auto India has recently announced that the sedan has received an exceptional response and further confirms that the deliveries of the RS 245 will commence once the nationwide lockdown is lifted.

Further commenting on the news, he stated – “I am really looking forward to delivering the car, and I am hoping that when this whole lockdown finishes I can even hand over some of the cars to the customers myself.”

To jog your memory, powering the Skoda Octavia RS 245 is a 2.0-litre TSI turbo-petrol engine that is capable of churning out a maximum power of 245 HP and an utmost torque of 370 Nm. The engine comes mated to a 7-speed DSG automatic gearbox. The sedan is capable of accelerating from 0-100 kmph in just 6.6 seconds while the top speed registered by it stands at 250 kmph (electronically limited).

The brand has recently revealed the fourth-gen Skoda Octavia RS in the international markets that features a 1.4-litre TSI turbo-petrol engine mated to an electric motor, capable of offering a total power output of 245 HP and a peak torque of 400 Nm. There has been no official information revealed on when the sedan will make it to the Indian shores as of yet.
