Skoda is gearing up to launch its sedan, the Slavia which is based on the brand’s India 2.0 strategy. The sedan has already begun to arrive at dealerships across the country in advance of its official launch, which is scheduled for early March. Test drives have not started yet, but interested buyers can book the Skoda Slavia by making a down payment of Rs 11,000. In response to a tweet, Zac Hollis, Director Sales and Marketing, Skoda stated that prices for the Skoda Slavia mid-size sedan will be revealed in the first week of March 2022, with deliveries beginning later that month.
The latest spy shots of the Skoda Slavia from the showroom are courtesy of auto enthusiast Shirun Kumar. Slavia is a mid-sized sedan developed on an MQB A0 IN platform with over 95% localization. This is the same platform used by Skoda Kushaq and Volkswagen Taigun, and it will also be used for the forthcoming Volkswagen Virtus. Skoda Slavia will be available in three trim levels: Active, Ambition, and Style. It will have a butterfly front grille with chrome accents. The sedan will have projector LED headlamps, integrated LED DRLs, and a sharp bumper style with fog lamps.
Moreover, the top-tier model cabin amenities will include comfortable seating in a black and beige colour combination, keyless entry, push-button start/stop, touch-based automatic climate controls, and ventilated front seats. In terms of powertrain, the upcoming Skoda Slavia will be offered with two engine options: a 1.0-litre TSI petrol engine with the capability of churning out 108 hp and 175 Nm when coupled to a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission; and a 1.5-litre TSI petrol engine producing 148 hp and 250 Nm when combined with a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed DSG unit.
