SsangYong presented a host of high standing vehicles from it’s international lineup at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show. SIV-2 is a concept midsize SUV from the South Korean car maker, presenting the future design and size estimation of a product based on the prototype. It has been listed a premium product and comes as a successor to the SIV-1 from Geneva Motor Show two years back.
The front end seems quite familiar to the SsangYong’s design language, adding a bit of aggression through large air intakes and good looking pair of headlights. The DRL’s look upmarket and may change their shape in the production version. The design continues to excel from the side view also as the huge wheel arches and low profile tyres improves the overall character of the car. Inside has actually been filled with luxury as 4 individual seats with flat floor and a nearly button-less dashboard with a large touchscreen for every control has been placed in the car. The round button the dash is the main physical controller whereas everything seems futuristic on the inside.
The car get’s a mild hybrid system with 1.5 L petrol and 10kW electric motor paired for a less polluting car in total. The 48-V hybrid system offers quiet and efficient driving while keeping the emissions impressively lower than a traditional car of the same size.
