Suzuki XL7 Spotted in Indonesia; Based on India-Spec Maruti XL6

According to recent reports, Maruti Suzuki is all set to introduce the all-new XL6 in the Indonesian market, though the MPV will be named as Suzuki XL7. The brand will further offer the MPV with a 7-seat setup as compared to the 6-seat version currently available in the Indian market.

The images of the upcoming Indonesian-spec Suzuki XL7 have recently surfaced online for the very first time and the MPV looks more or less similar to its 6-seater version with the only major difference being the 7-seat setup offered inside the cabin.

Suzuki XL7

Maruti Suzuki XL6 is the second crossover model from the brand that is essentially based on the Ertiga. Featuring the similar design traits as that of the XL6, the Suzuki XL7 has been equipped with a fully redesigned front bumper when compared to the Ertiga and features a hexagonal grille at the front with chrome slats as well as a Suzuki logo mounted in the middle. The front grille has been further mated to bolder LED headlamps with integrated LED DRLs just below it.

Similarly, matching the interior design language of the XL6, the XL7 is said to feature an all-black interior colour scheme with silver accents and the captain seat setup offered in the XL6 has now been replaced with a conventional 3-seat set up in the second row. In addition to this, the Suzuki XL7 also features metallic alloy wheels in contrast to the matte ones offered on the XL6.

Suzuki XL7

Powering the Maruti Suzuki XL6 is a BS6-compliant K15B 1.5-litre petrol engine that is capable of generating maximum power of 105HP and a peak torque of 138Nm. The engine comes mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox or a 4-speed automatic transmission. One can further expect the Suzuki XL7 to feature the same mechanical specifications as that of the Maruti XL6. Once launched in Indonesia, the XL7 will compete in the market with the likes of Mitsubishi Xpander Cross and the Toyota Rush compact SUV.
