Tata Harrier Beats Jeep Compass & Mahindra XUV500 in April 2019

Tata Harrier Beats Compass & XUV500 (Sales Report): Tata Harrier has proven itself to be unbeatable, taking over the mid-size segment baton from the Mahindra XUV500 and Jeep Compass in April 2019 again. The car was good for 2075 units in the 30-day period. On the other hand, Mahindra posted 1508 units for the XUV500 and Jeep got 1204 buyers for the Compass.

If Harrier keeps this pace and accelerates slightly further, it can even post a number that is equal to both the cars combined. Hyundai Creta is the favourite mid-size SUV in India with 10,487 units on the charts, leaving space for Mahindra Scorpio and Maruti S-Cross before the Harrier appears on this list.

Tata Harrier

The popularity of XUV500, Compass, and Harrier is so high that options like Renault Duster, Nissan Kicks, Tata Safari, Renault Captur, and Nissan Terrano are getting almost negligible numbers. The impressive design of Harrier and its practical five-seat layout makes it popular among buyers upgrading from cars priced around INR 12-14 lakh.

The 2.0L engine setup with 140 HP is a great option as more power definitely means an impact on the mileage. The speed of the improving sales figure also confirms that Tata Harrier will soon overtake S-Cross to become the third best-selling product of the segment.

Jeep Compass

Tata is fearing none of the current-generation products as they are offering conventional designs in front of the modern Harrier design. However, the arrival of MG Hector is an indirect threat to the brand. They are using the same 2.0L engine with 170 HP and even offer petrol automatic for more effective driving.

Tata Harrier and MG Hector are similar in terms of facial design language while the rear of both cars brings different opinions from the fans. The Harrier is feature rich and MG enjoys the tag of being exclusive. It would be interesting to see what happens once the launch of Hector in June comes near.
