2020 Tata Nexon Compact SUV Spotted for the First Time

The first camouflaged image of the 2020 Tata Nexon compact SUV has recently surfaced online. The company unveiled this product back in September 2017 and it has been successful in grabbing everyone’s attention. The car became increasingly popular and soon became the second best-selling compact SUV and in the run, it turned down other cars like the Ford EcoSport and the Honda WR-V.

But with the recent launch of cars like Mahindra XUV300 and Hyundai Venue, the Nexon has started losing its fan following in the Indian market. Owing to the falling fame, the SUV recently got some feature additions that did not do any benefit to it in terms of the sales number.

Due to the car’s unfortunate phase, the company has decided to give a major design facelift to the Tata Nexon. The 2020 model of the SUV will be offered with a number of noticeable changes on the interior and exterior. The recent spy image gives a clear indication of what can be expected out of the product.

2020 Tata Nexon Compact SUV Spotted for the First Time

The design of the 2020 Tata Nexon has been inspired by the ‘Impact Design 2.0’ philosophy that was first seen on the Harrier. As a result, the front fascia of the new Nexon has got a sharper design profile. The grille section that contains the Tata logo is equally appealing whereas the projector headlamps will also be on offer.

Tata also has integrated LED Daytime Running Lights (DRLs) that adds to the sporty touch of the 2020 Nexon. The front grille vents have been improved and they will be offered in a number of different colour options.

The 2020 Tata Nexon is expected to be equipped with features like a sunroof and sensors for rain wipers. The interiors of the car are expected to feature an improved steering wheel, an enlarged infotainment screen and the interior will also comprise of premium soft-touch materials teamed with metallic accents.

The next-gen model of Nexon will be available with 2 engine options: 1.2-litre Revotron turbo petrol and 1.5-litre Revotorq diesel. Both the engines will be BS6-compliant and are expected to be more refined in comparison to the current set of engines on offer. The 2020 model of the compact SUV will get the same 6-speed manual and 6-speed AMT gearbox options.
