2021 Tata Safari Exterior & Interior Fully Revealed: Tata Motor has officially unveiled the 2021 model of Safari ahead of its launch on January 26, on the occasion of Republic Day. The brand today also rolled out the first production unit of the SUV from its Pune manufacturing plant. As we reported earlier, the 2021 model of Safari is basically the production version of the 7-seater Harrier, which was earlier codenamed as Gravitas.
The next-gen Tata Safari is 63mm longer and 80mm taller than the Harrier 5-seater model to make extra room for the third row. The SUV also features a stepped-up roof for an airier third row. The 2021 Safari will most likely be available in a 6-seater and a 7-seater option.
The new Safari has been upgraded to set it apart from the Harrier. The changes include a larger rear quarter glass, a new C-pillar rear quarter design, and also a flatter boot lid. It also gets a slightly different front grille with a tri-arrow pattern, while the side profile along with the headlamps and front bumper is the same as Tata Harrier.
The two engine options include a 2.0-litre diesel engine churning out 170PS of maximum power and 350 Nm of peak torque, and a 1.5-litre petrol engine is also on the cards. The transmission options include a 6-speed manual gearbox and 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. It is also being rumoured that Tata Motor will also launch a 4×4 version of 2021 Tata Safari at a later stage.
Some of the other key features include a dual-tone white-black interior theme, front parking sensors, electronic parking brake, JBL audio system, 8.8″ infotainment touch screen system, six airbags, and a panoramic sunroof. The next-gen Tata Safari is expected to be priced a lakh over the price of Harrier, which is currently available with a starting ex-showroom price tag of INR 13.84 lakhs.
