2021 Tata Safari SUV Spotted On The Road: The production-ready model of 2021 Tata Safari has been spotted on the road for the first time in a new set of undisguised photos. As per the details available, the SUV has already started reaching dealerships across India and some of the dealers have also started accepting unofficial pre-bookings with a token amount of INR 50,000. Tata Motor will officially commence the pre-bookings for new Safari starting from January 26. The 2021 model of Safari is basically the production version of the 7-seater Harrier, which was earlier codenamed as Gravitas.
The new Safari has been upgraded to set it apart from the Harrier. The changes include a larger rear quarter glass, a new C-pillar rear quarter design, and also a flatter boot lid. It also gets a slightly different front grille with a tri-arrow pattern, while the side profile along with the headlamps and front bumper is the same as Tata Harrier.
The two engine options include a 2.0-litre diesel engine churning out 170PS of maximum power and 350 Nm of peak torque, and a 1.5-litre petrol engine is also on the cards. The transmission options include a 6-speed manual gearbox and 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. It is also being rumoured that Tata Motor will also launch a 4×4 version of 2021 Tata Safari at a later stage.
Some of the other key features include a dual-tone white-black interior theme, front parking sensors, electronic parking brake, JBL audio system, 8.8″ infotainment touch screen system, six airbags, and a panoramic sunroof. The next-gen Tata Safari is expected to be priced a lakh over the price of Harrier, which is currently available with a starting ex-showroom price tag of INR 13.84 lakhs.
