2023 Tata Safari SUV Captured While Testing For The First Time

The first test mule of the upcoming 2023 Tata Safari facelift has been spotted. While the car is heavily camouflaged, we can see some exterior updates. The facelift could be unveiled during the upcoming holiday season or by the end of this fiscal year. The spy shots of the test mules are clicked by automobile enthusiast Maaz Ahmed.

The updated grille is the first thing that stands out in the front. It has unique silver finished holes that contrast with the quilted pattern of the previous model. The brow DRLs blend in quite sharply with the grille. The lights are also more streamlined.

The headlamp housings have been rounded and merged with the bumper well. However, the fog lamps and the 2-piece bottom grille remain unchanged. The roof rails are disguised and may be adorned with a new colour.

The brushed silver finish on the rear bumper is missing on the test mule. Perhaps it will be added during the production process. The rest of the aspects appear the same as before, albeit completely hidden. From certain angles, the protruding LED tail lamps appear polarising.

The facelifted Safari and Harrier may get a petrol heart for the first time, thanks to Mahindra’s aggressive pricing for the petrol variants of the Scorpio-N and XUV700. The petrol engine may make the Safari more affordable.

Furthermore, the redesigned Tata will include numerous refinements and creature comforts. Some of these features could include the much-needed ADAS, 360-degree camera, ventilated seats, and a larger touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

The Safari is currently powered by a single Stellantis-sourced 2-litre Kryotec diesel engine that produces 170 HP and 350 Nm peak torque. The transmission options are a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic.
