According to recent reports, the most anticipated product from the brand, the Tata Gravitas will also be available in a 6-seater version in addition to the standard 7-seater version that was previously spotted online. The recently spotted test mule of the 6-seater Tata Gravitas features captain seat setup in the second row while one can expect both the versions of the upcoming SUV to be officially unveiled at the Auto Expo 2020.
Though heavily camouflaged, the recently surfaced 6-seater Tata Gravitas features the same design language as that of its 7-seater version with the only difference being the captain seat setup in the middle. Coming to the front fascia, the upcoming SUV features a Tata Harrer-inspired front bumper with high-mounted LED DRLs and a lower set of headlight units.
Similar to that of the 7-seater version, the 6-seater Tata Gravitas features an upright rear bumper design with a roof spoiler as well as roof rails. The brand has further equipped the SUV with the same 18-inch alloy wheels. The overall longer profile of the upcoming SUV makes it stand apart from the already available Tata Harrier.
Featuring the same width of 1,894mm as that of Tata Harrier, the Gravitas is 63mm longer as well as 80mm taller when compared to it. The third row has been accommodated with a stepped roof while both the 6-seater and the 7-seater versions have been equipped with the same cabin design.
Powering the 6-seater Tata Gravitas will be a 2.0-litre turbo diesel engine that is capable of generating maximum power of 170HP and a peak torque of 350 Nm. The engine will be mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox though the brand is expected to introduce a 6-speed automatic gearbox at a later stage.
Once launched in India, the 6-seater Tata Gravitas will compete in the market with the likes of MG Hector Plus that is expected to launch by mid-2020 though there has been no official confirmation received on the same.
