Tata Gravitas, one of the most anticipated SUVs from the brand has been recently unveiled at the Auto Expo 2020. Equipped with the same underlying OMEGARC platform, the Tata Gravitas is a 7-seater version of the Harrier SUV and it will be launched in India ahead of the festive season this year.
The recently unveiled Gravitas is based on the brand’s all-new Impact Design 2.0 philosophy which features sleek LED DRLs mated to the iconic humanity line grille at the front. The projector headlamps have been housed just above the fog lamps while the overall neat front bumper design adds to its premium appeal.
Coming to the rear profile, the SUV has been equipped with a larger windscreen at the rear that meets the D-pillar in a skilful manner while the addition of squared wheel arches, as well as the roof rails, further distinguishes it apart from the Tata Harrier. In addition to this, the brand has also equipped the Gravitas with a muscular rear bumper design with an all-new LED tail lights setup which is different from its 5-seater version.
Since the design language of the Tata Gravitas takes inspiration from the Buzzard concept that was originally showcased at Geneva Motor Show, the SUV measures 4,661mm in length, 1,894mm in width, and 1,786mm in height while the wheelbase remains same at 2,741 mm when compared to the Tata Harrier.
Coming to the cabin, the brand is expected to offer the Gravitas with every premium bit which includes the likes of the touchscreen infotainment system, dual-tone interiors, a floating digital console as well as steering mounted controls.
Powering the Tata Gravitas will be the same 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder diesel engine that has been equipped on the BS6 2020 model of the Tata Harrier. It is capable of offering maximum power of 170HP and a peak torque of 350 Nm. The engine will be mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox a standard while the customers will also be able to avail the Gravitas with 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox as well.
