Tata Hexa finally gets a launch date for India as the premium MPV will now be launched on January 18, 2017. The car comes in 14 variants, which are reduced to half if we do not consider the center bench and captain seats variant. Hexa is expected to to carry a starting price tag of INR 12 lakh while its prices may go upto INR 18 lakh for the topmost, fully loaded trim. Tata Hexa will even get the badge of the next Flagship product for the Indian manufacturer. The base variants are divided in just XE, XM and XT variants.
The base variant for Hexa will be powered by the 2.2 liter Varicor 320 engine, producing 150 PS and 320 Nm of torque. It will just have the option of a 5-speed manual gearbox and would loose most of the bells and whistles being listed on the new Hexa. Also, it will be carrying just the front wheel drive layout. The XM and XT will use the 2.2 liter Varicor 400 engine that produces 156 PS of maximum power and 400 Nm of earth shattering torque. This version is offered with both 6-speed manual as well as automatic gearbox.
Tata even offers 4×4 as an option on the top spec Hexa. The model with automatic transmission also offers Super Drive modes. The bookings for Tata Hexa have started at various dealerships while customers can even experience the drive through the test drive vehicles already allotted to these dealerships. Hexa carries the potential of being best Tata car ever as it comes loaded with enhanced safety features, mind blowing features and powerful set of engines. Not just that, it can undercut the pricing from rival Innova Crysta by a good margin.
Hexa comes with a 5 inch touchscreen infotainment system, paired with specially designed 10 speaker JBL audio system with subwoofer and amplifier. It uses 6-airbags, electronic safety program, traction control, hill hold control, reverse parking camera and many more safety enhancing features. Hexa carries an all Black cabin for premium look while its exterior design can compel most customers that it is a hidden SUV behind that evenly spread MPV image. All these features hint at a really promising product from Tata this time.
It’s Official: Tata to Launch Hexa on January 18
Tata Hexa is all ready to rock the MPV segment in India in the coming months. The company website has gone live, revealing most of the facts which were missing for the new Hexa. Balancing practicality with beauty, Tata Motors are high on hopes with this car as it would be the upcoming flagship for the car maker. Certain angles and features may make the Hexa feel like a SUV but still, Tata plays safe and proudly denotes the word MPV with it. Hexa will primarily rival other cars in this segment like Toyota Innova Crysta and Mahindra XUV500.
