Tata Altroz, the upcoming hatchback from the brand has been spotted again in a new set of images that offers a clear insight into its cabin. Judging from the recently revealed images, the interior of the hatchback takes styling cues from the pre-production variant showcased at the Geneva Motor Show.
The steering wheel of the hatchback features the same flat bottom design with cruise control and other media controls mounted on it. The 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system has been positioned at the centre.
Coming to the instrument panel, the brand has equipped the Tata Altroz with a digital tachometer and an analogue speedometer as well as a digital MID. The dual-tone upholstery adds to its unique look while the blue ambient detailing adds to the premium touch.
The doors of the upcoming hatchback have been designed with special focus allowing them to open at 90 degrees. The interior further features an automatic climate control system in addition to chrome detailing on the door handles. The cabin at the back also features a central armrest. Some reports also suggest that the brand has equipped their upcoming product with voice-assisted features.
Tata will be offering BS6-compliant petrol and diesel engine options with the upcoming hatchback. One can expect the brand to equip the car with a detuned version of the 1.5-litre diesel engine, borrowed from the Nexon compact SUV. The 1.5-litre diesel engine on the Tata Altroz will offer a maximum power of around 90HP.
In addition to this, Nexon’s 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine and the 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine will be offered on the Tata Altroz. The former will be capable of generating a maximum power figure of 102HP and 140Nm of peak torque while the latter will be good for 85HP and 114Nm.
The customers can avail a 5-speed manual gearbox with all the three engine variants while the petrol engine can be further availed with an optional AMT (Automated Manual Gearbox) transmission.
Once launched in India, the Tata Altroz is expected to get a price tag ranging between INR 5.5 lakh to INR 8.5 lakh (ex-showroom) while competing in the market with the likes of Maruti Suzuki Baleno, Hyundai Elite i20, Honda Jazz, VW Polo, Ford Figo, and the Toyota Glanza.
