Tata Harrier: New Photos Show What the SUV Looks Like on the Road

Tata Motors today started the media drive of the upcoming and much-awaited Harrier SUV in Jodhpur, Rajasthan. The media drive will start from Taj Hotel, Hari Mahal in Jodhpur and goes all the way to the Khimsar Fort. The bookings for the SUV are already open across India with a token amount of INR 30,000. The deliveries of the car will start from next month, and the on-road price of Tata Harrier is expected to be around INR 16-20 lakh. In terms of design, we must say that the exterior of the SUV is very close to the H5X concept showcased at the Auto Expo in February 2018. The wheelbase stands at 2741mm. The gigantic dimensions for this five-seater SUV results in more legroom, loads of shoulder room and impressive boot space. In comparison to Hyundai Creta and Jeep Compass, the Harrier dimensions are truly amazing. Jeep Compass is almost 203mm shorter than the Harrier while difference for Creta is 328mm. At the time of official launch, the SUV will only be available with a 6-speed manual gearbox and a 4x2 power-train. The 7-seat variant (H7X) is expected to get a 6-speed automatic gearbox by the mid or end of 2019. The SUV will be powered by a 2.0L Fiat sourced diesel unit capable of churning out maximum power of 140HP. The seven-seat version of the SUV will be powered by a more powerful 170HP version of the same diesel engine. The SUV would be competing with the likes of Mahindra XUV500, Hyundai Creta and the Jeep Compass.
