Following the Nexon, Harrier, and Safari Jet editions, Tata Motors has now given the Nexon EV Prime and Nexon EV Max the ‘Jet Edition’ treatment. The Nexon EV Prime and EV Max Jet Editions are based on the top-spec XZ+ Lux trim and are priced at Rs 17.50 lakh and Rs 19.54 lakh (ex-showroom, India), respectively. Unlike the other Jet Edition SUVs, the Nexon EV Prime and EV Max Jet Editions have only received cosmetic updates, with no equipment upgrades.
The ‘Starlight’ dual-tone paint finish, with a bronze body and a silver roof, is the main talking point on the Nexon EV Prime and Nexon EV Max Jet Editions, as it is on the other three Jet Edition SUVs. Furthermore, all of the standard SUVs’ electric blue accents have been replaced with either gloss black or silver accents.
For example, the belt line below the window is now Gloss Black, while the tri-arrow elements on the bumper and fog lamp garnish are now silver. Other changes include a new dark chrome finish for the ‘EV’ logo on the grille and new jet-black alloy wheels.
The bronze and black colour scheme continue inside. The dashboard and door panels have been given a new bronze trim, while the leatherette door pads have been given a new granite black finish – the standard SUVs are finished in oyster white.
The electric blue accents around the AC vents and the centre console have been blacked out as well. The oyster white seat upholstery also receives new bronze contrast stitching. The word ‘Jet’ is also inscribed in bronze stitching on the front head restraints. The equipment list, however, has not been updated.
Both electric SUVs are mechanically identical to the standard model. The Nexon EV Prime has an ARAI-certified range of 312km and is powered by a 129hp electric motor and a 30.2kWh battery pack. The Nexon EV Max, on the other hand, is powered by a 143hp electric motor and has a larger 40.5kWh battery pack, with an ARAI-certified range of 437km.
