Tata Motors recently launched its long-range Nexon EV Max in India and the brand has already announced a price hike of Rs 60,000 on all of the variants. The EV is now available at a starting price of Rs 18.34 lakh (ex-showroom), while the price for the top-spec variant with a 7.2 kW AC fast charger goes all the way up to Rs 19.84 lakh (ex-showroom).
As claimed by the brand, the SUV has an ARAI certified range of 437 km and it can manage some popular city-to-city popular highways on a single charge, such as Mumbai to Pune, Delhi to Kurukshetra, Bengaluru to Mysuru, Chennai to Puducherry, Ranchi to Dhanbad, and Gandhinagar to Vadodra. Tata cited that the EV would be charged fully within 56 minutes using the 7.2 kW charger.
Speaking of the battery pack details, the 2022 Nexon EV Max is fitted with a 30% larger battery as compared to the existing Nexon EV. The indigenous automaker has used this 40.5 kWh unit to enhance the range of this all-new electric SUV. It needs to be mentioned here that despite being the bigger size, the battery doesn’t have a negative impact on boot space and it continues to be at 350 litres.
As far as power output is concerned, the electric motor in the Max has the capability of churning out 143 HP and 250 Nm, while the top speed it can offer is 140 kmph. In terms of design and styling, the 2022 Tata Nexon EV Max remains identical to the onboard Nexon EV but this time rides on 16-inch five-spoke diamond-cut alloy wheels.
The offered paint scheme comprises dual-tone colours like Intensi-Teal, Pristine White and Daytona Grey. Tata has offered the EV with features like a jewelled control knob, electric sunroof, ventilated seats, air purifier, rear AC vents, wireless smartphone charger, Harman infotainment system, and an electronic parking brake, to name a few.
