Tata Nexon AMT was recently detailed through an official press release by the brand. They have named the car Nexon HyprDrive. Tata Motor seems to offer the automatic variant on top spec variant of both engines only.
It may be a possibility that they could offer lower spec variants after gauging buyer’s interest in their new 6-speed AMT. It is yet to be seen how well this gearbox performs on both their turbocharged petrol and diesel engine.
List of features on this HyprDrive variant are pretty impressive as one can drive Nexon in Eco, City and Sport model in auto configuration. Manual shifting is only a possibility in Sport mode.
Tata Nexon petrol AMT will use the same 1.2L, turbocharged petrol engine producing 110 PS and 170 Nm. This variant weighs 1252 kg with AMT gearbox and carries impressive 215/60-16 tyres for better grip levels.
Every feature given on top spec variant is available on Nexon HyprDrive while one gets additional features like hill assist, wearable key and creep function with their new gearbox.
Three torque management features named Kick-Down, Fast-Off and AntiStall guarantee quick downshifts during sudden acceleration and jerk free ride in most non ideal conditions.
When it comes to diesel, Nexon HyprDrive offers most powerful engine of this segment with 110 PS of maximum power and 260 Nm of class leading torque. Nexon HyprDrive Diesel weighs 1305 kg and offers exactly same features as its petrol cousin.
Apart from other available shades, a new option named Etna Orange has also been introduced on Tata Nexon. It measures 3994 mm in length, 1811 mm in width and 1607 mm in height. Wheelbase measures 2498 mm while unladen ground clearance is pretty impressive at 209mm.
Nexon comes with class leading features like 6.5 inch floating infotainment unit with 8 speaker Harman music system for enhanced aural pleasure. AMT models are expected to be priced around INR 40,000 more in comparison to the manual variants.
