Tata Motors has introduced the Safari Red Dark Edition in India, with prices starting at Rs 22.61 lakh (ex-showroom). Based on the existing Dark Edition, it is available in two variants and, for the first time, includes ADAS features. Customers who are interested in purchasing the SUV can now do so at their nearest authorised Tata Motors dealership for a nominal fee of Rs 30,000.
The Safari’s visual appeal is enhanced by the Oberon Black exterior colour. The Oberon Black exterior comes with red accents on the front grille and brake callipers. It rides on the same 18-inch Charcoal Black alloy wheels as the previous model. The Dark badge on the fenders now has red detailing.
The Carnelian Red leatherette upholstery with a quilting pattern and Dark motifs on the headrests are the main highlight of the cabin’s changes. The Safari Red Dark Edition now has a larger 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a 7-inch digital driver’s display.
Another highlight of this Safari special edition is the inclusion of ADAS features. It includes a blind-spot monitor with a 360-degree camera and rear cross-traffic alert. Forward and rear collision warning with autonomous braking is also the part of ADAS suite. The lane departure warning and traffic sign recognition are among the active safety features as well.
The Safari Red Dark is still powered by a 2.0-litre diesel engine under the hood. The BS6 Phase 2-compliant motor generates a max power of 170 hp and 350 Nm of peak torque. Tata offers a 6-speed manual transmission and a six-speed automatic transmission for the Safari Red Dark Edition.
