Tata Tigor EV Price Officially Revealed: Tata’s first all-electric vehicle, Tigor EV’s price has been officially unveiled. The compact sedan is now available at a starting price tag of INR 9.99 lakh for the base model while the price goes all the way up to INR 10.09 lakh for the top model. The Tigor EV can only be availed by fleet operators and is not yet available for private buyers.
Compliant with the new safety regulations to be in effect from July 1, 2019, the Tata Tigor EV features a basic level of security kit that includes ABS, rear parking sensors, dual front airbags and more. The fleet operators can avail the Tigor EV in two variants namely: Tigor EV XM and Tigor EV XT. There aren’t many differences between the two trims except the latter has been equipped with 14-inch alloy wheels as well as power adjustable wing mirrors. The Tigor EV will be available for sale in white, blue, and silver colour options.
The electric sedan gets a price tag of INR 4 lakh higher than the ongoing petrol Tigor variant while being compliant with the Indian Government’s Fame II scheme, the Tigor EV gets an incentive amount of INR 1.62 lakh. The official price tag for the electric vehicle also includes the 1% tax applicable on the vehicles with prices above INR 10 lakhs. Considering all the parameters, the actual price tag for it would have ranged between INR 11.60- 11.70 lakh, excluding the incentives offered by the government.
Powering both the XM and XT trims is a 16.2kWh battery that offers a maximum power of 41 HP at 4,500rpm and an utmost torque of 105 Nm at 2,500rpm. Driving power to the wheels is a 72V, 3-phase AC induction motor. The brand has opted for lesser boot space with the Tigor EV which only stands at 89 litres as compared to the 419 litres offered on the petrol variant. The company claimed a range of the electric sedan is 142 km on a single charge of the battery. The brand is also offering a three-year/1.25 lakh kilometre warranty with the battery and the vehicle.
