Video: Tata Harrier SUV Spotted Testing on Haridwar-Dehradun Highway

Tata Harrier was recently spied on Haridwar-Dehradun highway, completely hidden under the camouflage pattern but still revealing some details regarding the front fascia. The upcoming premium SUV is equipped with LED lights at all corners, partially revealing the glowing pattern for the taillight and front headlight design that is purely a revolution for the expected price section. The bumper section stays almost identical to the concept car, featuring a tank-like bonnet position and strong stance for the viewers. They have well understood the upside points for Jeep Compass, bringing even more character to the Harrier around its camouflaged production form.

The rear section feels more in sync with Land Rover range, featuring compact glass section and prominent boot door with a beefed-up bumper. The placement of Harrier in the company lineup will help Tata Motors claim premium position among other brands, leaving the league of Maruti and Hyundai to claim a direct and indirect rivalry with Jeep Compass and Mahindra XUV500. As all three of them fall in the same pricing, those looking for strict 7-seater will only choose the XUV500 over the premium options. Tata Motors is expected to keep the ex-showroom pricing for Harrier around INR 13 lakh for the base model and the top-end variant is expected to stay under INR 18 lakh.

The new premium SUV will use a powerful 2.0L, Kryotec diesel engine, producing 140 HP in the five-seat variant. The seven-seat option will enter the scene later. Harrier and Hexa will stay parallel in terms of pricing, leaving buyers with two different products at the same point. Still, the premium approach of Harrier, along with the rising popularity of unique design lines, will provide the necessary push to this upcoming product in India. The official debut for Harrier will take place around the first week of December while India specific launch event is projected for January 2019 for the five-seat variant.
