Indian car market saw considerable growth in the month of April 2017, providing the required boost in sales for most of the manufacturers of the country. The names in the top 20 cars of India remained mostly the same while their positions saw noticeable changes in the last month.
Maruti Swift jumped over all the others and came forward as the most selling car of India with 23,802 units in April 2017. This gave it a growth of 52 percent when compared with the same month last year. Maruti Alto moved to the second place with 22,549 units on its side.

Maruti Baleno stood third with 17,530 units while WagonR helped Maruti claim the fourth place with 16,348 units. After these 4 Maruti cars, Hyundai i20 and Grand i10 took the fifth and sixth spot with 12,668 units and 12,001 units respectively.
Maruti Vitara Brezza stood seventh with 10,653 units while Hyundai Creta sold 9213 units in April 2017. The ninth spot was bagged by the old generation Dzire with 8,797 units while Celerio came tenth with 8,425 units. This clearly indicates that first ten places went straight to Maruti (7) and Hyundai (3).

Renault KWID sold 7,956 units in the same period while Maruti Omni got 7,628 units on its side. Maruti Ciaz stood at the thirteenth place with 7,024 units while Ertiga sold 6,742 units in April 2017. Toyota Innova, the most expensive car on the top 20 list, sold 6,589 units in the same month.
Mahindra’s popular Bolero followed closely with 6,358 units while Maruti Eeco was even closer at 6,310 units. Honda City got itself 5,948 units for the eighteenth spot while Hyundai Eon and Maruti Ignis got 5,379 and 5,030 units for the lat two places respectively.
