Toyota to Launch Lexus Cars in India on March 24

If a recent report is to be believed, Toyota would be launching the Lexus brand in India on March 24, 2017 in India. The Japanese luxury brand will first operate through Toyota dealerships while later, it will work through the independent dealership network in the future. They will be bringing three models namely LX450 SUV, ES300h Sedan and RX450h SUV in the start. The prices for these cars are expected to fall between INR 60 lakh to INR2.50 Crore.

The high pricing would be the result of CBU route that Lexus will follow for its initial vehicles. Bookings for all these have already started while they will start local assembly in 2018 only. The first dealership for the same is expected to arrive in Mumbai, followed soon by Delhi, Bangalore and Chennai. The starting model would be ES300h, which in inturn the luxury version of Camry Hybrid of India.

The car is built upon the same frame while the interior has been added with added goodies for luxurious appeal. It will rival Mercedes E-Class and BMW 5-series in the country. RX450h would be a premium crossover that rivals BMW X6 and Porsche Cayenne in the Indian market. It could get a price tag of above INR 1 Crore. The flagship product would be Lexus LX450d, rivaling Range Rover Vogue with its expected above INR 2 Crore price tag.
