2018 Toyota Land Cruiser Prado has been launched in India for INR 92.60 lakh. The price is huge when compared to several other cars around its segment. Those are well placed SUVs with loads of more power on tap. Still, the niche fan following has helped Toyota score good number for this car in last few years.
The new model was first seen in India at 2018 Auto Expo. Fourth generation Toyota Land Cruiser Prado was first seen in India for INR 52.40 lakh in 2009. The car now looks more aggressive than ever, all thanks to its new imposing front fascia with projectors and huge grill.
They have redesigned those bumpers while tail lights are also all new on 2018 Prado. Buyers can choose between Vintage Brown Pearl, Avant Garde Bronze and Blackish Ageha shade for the exterior while interior options include Redwood and Neutral Beige shade.
They have updated overall interior feel to satisfy customers with more luxury than ever. Prado now comes with ventilated seats, all new center console and 4-spoke wheel. Although it has improved in its own terms, competition is years ahead in terms of interior feel and addition of equipment.
Toyota Land Cruiser Prado is powered by a 3.0L, D-4D engine producing 173 PS at 3400 rpm and 410 Nm at 1600-2800 rpm. The engine comes mated to 5-speed automatic gearbox. Prado gets all wheel drive and adaptive suspension as standard.
The price points makes it much more expensive than most preferred options like Mercedes GLS and Audi Q7. Even Volvo offers more power for their buyers around this price point. More than 600 Nm of torque is available on both Audi and Mercedes SUVs. Toyota even offers bigger Land Cruiser with 4.4L V8 engine in India for INR 1.38 Crore.
