The 2021 Toyota Fortuner was officially unveiled back on June 4 and deliveries for the SUV have already been commenced in Thailand. In terms of looks, the new model features a revised exterior design language in addition to the redesigned front fascia. Carrying forward the dominating stance, the front profile of the SUV features all-new headlamps, fog lamps, alloys wheels, redesigned grille as well as the front bumper. The rear end of the SUV has also been tweaked a bit in addition to getting new tail-lights.
In terms of the interior design, the brand has made a lot of changes but the overall layout remains the same when compared to the last-gen version of the SUV. The 2021 model features a black theme which imparts it a premium and refreshing outlook. Some of the key features include new Optitron instrument cluster, 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay support, paddle shifters, automatic climate control system, cruise control, 8-way powered front seats, and on-touch folding seats. The updated model of the SUV gets a starting price tag of 1,319,000 Thai Baht (INR 30.88 lakh, approx.) for the base 2.4G 4×2 variant while the price range goes all the way up to 1,506,000 Thai Baht (INR 35.26 lakh, approx.) for the top-spec 2.4V 4×4 model. The standard model of the 2021 Toyota Fortuner is available with a single engine-gearbox option in Thailand. It is powered by an all-new 2.4-litre diesel engine which is further mated to a 6-speed torque-convertor automatic gearbox. The 2021 model of the SUV is capable to generate a maximum power of 150 HP at 3,400 rpm along with a peak torque of 400 Nm at 1,600-2,000 rpm.
The 2021 model of the Fortuner is expected to launch in the Indian markets by the end of this year or early next year. In addition to the 2.4-litre engine, Toyota is also offering the new model of the 2021 Fortuner with a 500Nm 2.8-litre diesel engine, which is exclusive to the Legender model.
