2021 Toyota Fortuner India Launch Date Officially Revealed: As we reported earlier, the updated model of Toyota Fortuner SUV is all set to launch in India next month. The product made its official debut in early June this year in Thailand, and Toyota has recently made an official announcement that the much-awaited all-new Fortuner will launch in India on January 6, 2021.
The 2021 model is expected to be powered by the same 2.8-litre turbo diesel engine as the current-gen variants of the Fortuner, which is good for 177 HP of power and 420 Nm of utmost torque. However, the top-end Legender version is said to offer more power and torque at 204 HP and 500 Nm respectively. The 2.7-litre petrol variant of the updated model would be good for 166 HP and 245 Nm.
The 2021 Toyota Fortuner will be available with both automatic and manual transmission options along with a selectable 4×4 low-range gearbox in some variants. If we talk about the exterior design of the car, the updated model sports a lot of changes like a new front grille with mesh pattern, re-designed headlamps with LED DRLs, and a new front bumper with a different design for the fog light housing.
The SUV is also equipped with newly-designed 18-inch alloy wheels, but the overall look from the sides remains the same in comparison to the current-gen version of the Fortuner. The only noticeable changes in the rear-end are the all-new LED tail lamps and a slightly tweaked rear bumper.
The cabin will also come equipped with a lot of equipment than before and an upgraded 8-inch infotainment screen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It will also feature adjustable front seats, a 360-degree park assist camera, and wireless charging for smartphones. In terms of pricing, the 2021 Toyota Fortuner is expected to get a starting price tag of INR 28 lakhs for the standard model and around INR 43 lakhs as the base price tag for the top-end Legender model.
If we talk about safety, the 2021 Toyota Fortuner Legender is equipped with Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), Brake Assist (BA), Traction Assist Control (TAC), Hill-start Assist Control (HAC), Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Electric Braking Distribution (EBD), Trailor-Sway Control (TSC), front and rear disc brakes, and 6-position parking sensors.
