The images of the 2021 Toyota Hilux pickup truck have recently surfaced online ahead of the official launch. The images showcase two different variants of the pickup truck that have been heavily facelifted and features almost identical styling when compared to the other SUVs offered by the brand. Some reports also suggest that the leaked images could be the internal photos of mid-cycle refresh that have been allotted to the pickup truck though, the production variant might feature some changed bits or so.
Coming to the prominent changes, the 2021 Toyota Hilux pickup truck now features a large trapezoidal grille at the front mated to either chrome detailing or paint depending on the different variants. In addition to this, the different trim features in the leaked images have been showcased with either a combination of revised halogen and LED headlamps as well as a full LED setup for the high-spec variants. The brand has further revised the front bumper which is now mated to a new skid-plate unit while the edges have been adorned with faux “L-shaped” air vents to add to the muscular profile further.
Apart from this, the brand has also revised the design of the wheels on the facelifted pickup truck while the rest of the outer detailing remains the same when compared to the current-gen version. Coming to the updated rear profile, the brand has equipped the 2021 Toyota Hilux with a tweaked tail light setup which is further mated to “E-shaped” LED units though rest of the rear design elements have been carried forward from the current-gen version. There has been no information revealed on the revised cabin of the facelifted pickup truck though one can expect it to feature some premium bits authentic to the brand’s SUVs.
Toyota is further expected to revise the petrol and diesel engines of the truck as well as offer 2WD and 4WD systems as an option. The brand is also expected to unveil the all-new turbodiesel V6 engine for the performance-oriented version of the upcoming pickup truck that will offer powerful performance and will be mated to a 4WD technology. The brand has no current plans for the launch of 2021 Hilux in India considering that its three-row sibling Toyota Fortuner is doing good in the Indian markets already. One can expect the 2021 Toyota Hilux to be launched in the international markets in the coming months.
