2021 Toyota Innova Crysta MPV Unveiled: Toyota has officially revealed the 2021 model of Innova Crysta in Indonesia with a starting price tag of IDR 337.6 million (INR 16.82 lakhs, approximately) while the top-spec variant is priced at IDR 440.9 million (INR 22.32 lakhs, approximately). The updated model of Toyota Innova Crysta is expected to launch in the Indian markets sometime in 2021.
In terms of looks, the 2021 model features an all-new front grille with five slats in black colour while the outer portion of the grille features chrome finishing. The fog lights, DRLs, and front bumper have also been revised a little bit while no major changes have been offered on the sides and at the rear end of the MPV, except for the new alloy wheels and slightly different tail lights. The interior is also more or less the same with a new design for the upholstery and a bigger infotainment system.
The top-spec model of 2021 Toyota Innova Crysta features a new 9.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with support for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Some of the other key features include the likes of cruise control, Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), seven airbags, speed-sensing door locks, hill-start assist, keyless entry and go, ambient lighting, leatherette seat covers, reverse camera and a lot more.
Mechanically, no changes are expected and the updated model is expected to get similar engine options in India like the current-gen model of Toyota Innova Crysta. The 2.7-litre 4-cylinder petrol engine is good for a maximum power of 166 HP at 5200 rpm and a peak torque of 245 Nm at 4000 rpm. The engine comes mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox with an option of a 6-speed automatic gearbox.
Coming to the 2.4-litre 4-cylinder diesel engine, the 5-speed manual version generates a maximum power of 150 HP @ 3400 rpm along with a peak torque of 343 Nm at 1400 rpm. The 6-speed automatic diesel model generates similar power value and a slightly higher torque figure of 360 Nm at 1400 rpm.
In terms of pricing, the next-gen model is expected to get a slight price hike. At present, the base petrol variant of the current-gen model is available in India with an ex-showroom price tag of INR 15.66 lakhs while the top-spec diesel variant is priced at INR 23.63 lakhs.
