2023 Toyota Innova Spotted Testing; Gets Land Cruiser Like Rear Lights

2023 Toyota Innova Spotted Testing; Gets Land Cruiser Like Rear Lights

The Toyota Innova has been a popular MPV since its launch in 2004, and the brand has continuously made efforts to make it up-to-date and loaded with sophisticated technology and design. And hence, the Innova has gone through multiple updates over the years, and now, according to the latest media reports, the carmaker is working on the next-gen model of the car. A new spy image of a test mule has surfaced online, which is most probably the 2023 Toyota Innova.

However, the test mule was fully covered, but one can still get an idea about the design language of the forthcoming MPV, such as new alloy wheels, taillights, roof-mounted spoiler with stop lamp and more. Talking about the taillights, they seem to be heavily inspired by the new model of the Toyota Land Cruiser SUV.

The 2023 Toyota Innova is slated to include major design, interior, and mechanical upgrades. The next-generation Innova might be built on the TNGA (Toyota New Generation Construction) platform rather than the present IMV body-on-frame architecture. This chassis is adaptable enough to support a variety of body designs and powertrains.

The present Innova Crysta is available with RWD (rear-wheel drive), whereas the Hilux and Fortuner are available with 4WD. Thanks to the TNGA platform, the new 2023 Toyota Innova is most likely to be available in a front-wheel-drive configuration. The Toyota Innova 2023 is supposed to be available with both petrol and petrol-hybrid powertrains. As Suzuki and Toyota have agreed to push petrol, hybrids, CNG, and electricity as fuel alternatives in the market, the business may retire the diesel engine.

This suggests that the Innova may follow in the footsteps of its smaller sibling, the Toyota Avanza. The Innova Crysta is now available with two engine options: a 2.7-litre NA petrol unit and a 2.4-litre diesel unit. The former delivers 164 HP and 245 Nm of peak torque, while the latter produces 148 bhp and 360 Nm of peak torque. A 5-speed manual gearbox or a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox is available as transmission choices.
