Ahead of the official launch, the India-spec Toyota Vellfire has been fully revealed by AutoCar in a new set of live images. The bookings for the premium MPV were commenced back in October 2019 while the deliveries are expected to begin in March 2020.
The Toyota Vellfire will be available to the customers with ‘Executive Lounge’ package as standard while the luxury MPV will be brought to the country as a CBU unit. The brand has equipped the Vellfire with two power-operated ottomans in the middle that are equally ventilated and can be reclined electrically.
In addition to this, the India-spec Toyota Vellfire will feature a dual-sunroof design as well as powered tailgate and sliding doors. The MPV will be further equipped with a three-zone automatic climate control system in addition to getting individual tray tables for additional convenience.
Coming to the interiors, the brand has equipped the MPV with an aftermarket 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system in addition to dual 10.2-inch screens for the rear passengers and a 360-degree camera. The dual-tone black and beige upholstery further enhance the premium look offered to the MPV.
In terms of exteriors, the leaked images show the MPV with white exterior shade with unique rear and front panels adding to the exclusivity and setting it apart from the Toyota Alphard MPV currently available in some of the South-Asian markets.
The India-spec Toyota Vellfire will be available to the customers in a single fully-loaded variant that will be powered by a petrol-electric hybrid powertrain with a 2.5-litre petrol engine capable of offering a maximum power figure of 150HP while the electric motor is good for 143HP. The combined power offered by the premium MPV will stand at 197HP. The engine will be mated to a CVT automatic gearbox.
Once launched in India, the Toyota Vellfire is expected to get an ex-showroom price tag of around INR 80 lakhs. The premium MPV will compete with the likes of Mercedes-Benz V-class as well as the upcoming Kia Carnival in the Indian market.
