New Toyota Fortuner India Launch Update: Toyota revealed the 2021 model of the Fortuner in Thailand back on June 4 this year. The new model of the SUV has been recently spotted testing in India for the first time and as per the latest details available, the brand would be launching the new Fortuner in the Indian market by Diwali 2020. In terms of pricing, the SUV is expected to get a starting ex-showroom price tag of around INR 29-30 lakhs.
The 2021 Toyota Fortuner is powered by an all-new 2.4-litre diesel engine which is further mated to a 6-speed torque-convertor automatic gearbox. The new model of the SUV is capable to generate a maximum power of 150 HP at 3,400 rpm along with a peak torque of 400 Nm at 1,600-2,000 rpm.
The engine features a VN Turbo system that helps it to deliver optimum power at all speeds. According to the brand, they have also improved the performance of the 4×4 system and it is now known as ‘Sigma 4 System’. In addition to the 2.4-litre engine, Toyota is also offering the new model of the Fortuner in Thailand with a 500Nm 2.8-litre diesel engine, which is exclusive to the Legender model.
