New Toyota Innova HyCross Base Model Live Photos and Details

Toyota has spent a long time riding the wave of success created by Innova and Fortuner in India. Rumour has it that Toyota will keep its Crysta alive by selling it alongside the Innova Hycross. For an on-road price of IDR 491 Million, the Innova Hycross Base G variant comes with a decent amount of kit (approx Rs. 25 lakh). When it is released in India, the same G trim will most likely be the base variant for the Innova Hycross.

When viewed from the front, the base G variant isn’t half bad. There are no obvious cost-cutting measures. Toyota provides a standard headlamp cluster for base models, which uses halogen bulbs rather than LEDs. Turn indicators are also halogens. Fog lamps and LED DRLs are also excluded.

There are alloy wheels on the side. But these are not the same 17″ alloy wheels seen on the top-spec model. These appear to be small and do not appear to fill the wheel wells well. The rear of the Innova Hycross base G variant features a chrome strip atop a Toyota logo.

The rear washer and wiper are present, but the rear defogger appears to be missing. The engine bay is unprotected in the base G variant. When it comes to engines, strong hybrid technology is overlooked. TKM is unlikely to offer strong hybrid technology on base variants in India as well.

Innova Hycross base G variant hasn’t skimped on anything. Climate control, roof-mounted rear AC vents with blower controls. Front and rear armrests, a dashboard-mounted gear selector, and electrically adjustable mirrors. Remote locking, a touchscreen infotainment system with steering-mounted controls, and a MID.

The 2.0L M20A-FXS engine in the HyCross (Zenix) produces 152 PS of max power output. It receives an electric motor with 113 PS, and the combined powertrain produces 186 PS and 187 Nm of torque. It is only available with a CVT, there is also a dedicated EV mode.
