Price of Toyota Innova Crysta & Toyota Fortuner Increased

The prices for premium segment SUV and MUV Toyota Fortuner and Innova Crysta have been hiked by the Japanese manufacturer by 2% and 1% respectively. The price hike has been made effective by May 04, 2017. The price increase has only been applicable to the bigger vehicles in the line up and there is no change in the price of Platinum Etios , Etios Liva , Etios Cross, Corolla Altis , Camry and also Prius. N Raja, Director and Vice President of TKM credited the increase in price to the increase in the cost of materials involved. The price of Innova Crysta has increased by around INR 20,000 across the range and the price of Fortuner has been hiked by around INR 35,000 for all variants.

Toyota Fortuner is priced in the range of INR 26.60 lakh to 31.86 lakh and Toyota Innova comes in the price range of INR 14.20 lakh and 21.41 lakhs ( all prices ex-showroom Delhi ). Toyota Fortuner is a powerful SUV with great upmarket styling and features. The first rate product from Toyota runs on a 2755 cc engine which generates a maximum power of 177 PS @ 3400 rpm and produces a maximum torque of 450 Nm @ 1600-2400 rpm. It comes in both manual and automatic transmission variants.

On the other hand the Toyota Innova Crysta is powered by a standard 2393 cc engine which generates a maximum power of 147.9 bhp @ 3400 rpm and produces a maximum torque of 342 Nm @ 1400-2800 rpm. The latest Innova model by Toyota is a raging success and now gets an all-new modern avatar loaded with great features. Both the models belong to high end price segments and the price hike is not likely to effect the customers who are loyal to the brand. Toyota recently also launched the Innova Touring Sport in India.

Speaking during the launch of the Innova Touring Sport, N. Raja, director and senior VP, sales and marketing, Toyota Kirloskar Motor said, “We are facing a challenge in terms of commodity prices, particularly metals, and therefore in order to offset the impact, we have passed it on to the customers.”
