The much-awaited Toyota Glanza has been launched in India at an introductory starting price tag of INR 7.22 Lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The first ever product launched through the Maruti Suzuki and Toyota partnership, the Toyota Glanza is basically a rebadged Maruti Baleno. The newly launched Glanza hatchback competes in the market with the likes of Honda Jazz, Hyundai i20 and the upcoming Tata Altroz.
In terms of design, both the Maruti Suzuki Baleno and Toyota Glanza looks the same though, the latter gets Toyota badging at the centre of the alloy wheels as well as on the steering wheel. In addition to this, the Glanza also features a chrome-loaded front grille. The hatchback can be availed in two trims namely G and V, based on Maruti Baleno’s Zeta and Alpha trims respectively. Both the variants could be made available with an automatic as well as a manual transmission.
Here is the complete variant-wise price list of Toyota Glanza:
Powering the Toyota Glanza G trim is a 1.2-litre K12C engine capable of churning out a maximum power of 90 HP and an utmost torque of 113 Nm. The engine has been mated to a 5-speed manual transmission though, the customers can also avail the model with a 7-speed CVT transmission.
The 1.2-litre K12B engine used on the Toyota Glanza V trim offers a maximum power of 83HP and the same torque of 113 Nm. The Glanza G trim has been equipped with a mild hybrid motor while the V Trim lacks the same.
With identical mileage figures as that of the Maruti Suzuki’s Baleno variants, the Toyota Glanza V MT trim offers fuel efficiency of 21.01 kmpl while the G Trim is good for 23.87 kmpl with the manual transmission, and the car is good for 19.56 kmpl for the CVT variants.
In terms of interior, the Toyota Glanza G variant features a 7.0 touchscreen infotainment system compatible with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Bluetooth. It also features a GPS navigation system, automatic climate control, height adjustable driver’s seat, voice command functionality, dual air-bags and ABS with EBD for added safety, steering mounted audio controls, ISOFIX mounts for child seats and more.
The Toyota Glanza V variant gets additional LED DRLs for the headlights in addition to the leather-clad steering wheel as well as reverse parking camera. It also gets a follow-me-home headlight feature and gets different LED detailing on the tail lamps. One of the best features setting the hatchback apart is that the Toyota Glanza can be availed with a 3-year/1,00,000km standard warranty in comparison to the Baleno’s 2-year/40,000 km warranty.
