Toyota unveiled the new-gen model of the Harrier back on Apr 14, 2020, and now the brand’s TRD (Toyota Racing Development) division has officially revealed the GR (Gazoo Racing) accessory kit for the SUV. The Toyota Harrier has been existing in the world from the past two decades and has nothing in common with the Tata Harrier, the SUV Indian enthusiasts cherish with all their hearts.
Coming back to the Toyota GR Harrier, the accessorized model features quad exhaust tips, front spoiler, side skirts, rear diffuser, large black surrounds for the front corner air intakes, rear spoiler, door visors, black/red side stripes, 20-inch multi-spoke alloy wheels with optional Michelin Pilot Sport 4 tyres.
Some of the other optional accessories on offer include a Yamaha performance damper for reducing body vibrations, door handle protectors, carbon fibre number plate frames, window tint, front windscreen shades and a boot floor mat.
Technically, no major changes have been made and the Toyota GR Harrier continues to be available with two engine options. A 2.0-litre Dynamic Force four-cylinder NA GDI petrol engine that is capable of churning out a maximum power of 171HP and a peak torque of 207Nm. The engine comes mated to a Direct-Shift CVT gearbox while gets a front-wheel-drive system as standard. The customers can also avail the AWD (all-wheel-drive) format with the Direct Force engine as an option.
In addition to this, the Japanese markets also get a Hybrid engine christened as Toyota Hybrid System II that is good for 178HP of power along with 221Nm of torque. It features a 2.5-litre four-cylinder petrol engine mated to an 88kW electric motor, pushing the total power output to 218HP. The engine has been mated to a CVT gearbox.
With the recent launch of the new Toyota Harrier in the Japanese markets, the brand will be unveiling the SUV in European as well as few ASEAN countries soon though India is highly unlikely to receive it.
