Toyota Hyryder SUV Bookings Open in India for Rs 25,000

Toyota eventually unveiled the Urban Cruiser Hyryder SUV in the Indian market. This is another product of the Toyota-Maruti Collaboration. However, this is a truly new development rather than a rebadged version. The Hyryder SUV is expected to hit the market next month, and the booking process has already started. Those who wish to book the car can do so by paying Rs 25,000 as token money through Toyota’s official website or by visiting Toyota-authorised dealerships.

As for the design and styling of the newly revealed SUV, it gets utterly fresh styling cues, but it also draws some design inspiration from the Toyota SUVs sold in the global markets. The Urban Cruiser Hyryder boasts double-layer DRLs that integrate into the piano-finished ‘Crystal Acrylic’ grille. The LED DRLs are divided into two tiers by a chrome strip that runs from one corner of the grille to the other. The C-shaped taillights enhance the beauty of the rear profile of the car.

On the inside, the SUV gets a dashboard layout similar to the new Brezza, Glanza, and Baleno. The manufacturer has used chrome and soft-touch elements to make it look premium. Some features, such as the AC controls, vents, and steering wheel, appear to be lifted from Maruti Suzuki vehicles. Besides this, top-tier variants have dual-tone leather and a 9.0-inch central touchscreen atop the centre console. A 7-inch digital instrument cluster and a head-up display are also included.

The Toyota Urban Cruiser becomes the country’s first midsize SUV to have powerful hybrid technology. It is propelled by a 1.5-litre TNGA Atkinson Cycle engine with 92 hp and 122 Nm of torque. The engine is coupled to an electric motor that produces 79 hp and 141 Nm of torque. The hybrid power unit has a combined power output of 115 hp. It works in conjunction with Toyota’s e-drive gearbox.

The Neo Drive engine is also available in the Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder. It is the 1.5-litre K15C mild-hybrid engine plant with an Integrated Starter Generator (ISG) seen on Maruti Suzuki vehicles such as the new Brezza, XL6, and Ertiga. It generates 103 hp and 137 Nm of torque. The engine will be mated to either a 5-speed manual transmission or an optional 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission.

The Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder will come with a warranty of 3 years or 1,00,000 km with an option of extension up to 5 years or 2,20,000 km, 3 years free roadside assistance, attractive financial schemes, and 8 years or 1,60,000 km warranty on hybrid battery.
