Toyota is continuing its efforts to align its vehicles with Toyota New Global Architecture (TNGA). Innova Hycross has also ditched its traditional ladder-on-frame chassis in favour of a lightweight monocoque chassis. TNGA also necessitates powertrain changes, which apply to the Innova Hycross as well. Innova Hycross features an FWD setup rather than the RWD setup that the Innova Crysta uses.
The 1,987cc 4-cylinder petrol engine in the Innova HyCross produces 172 HP of maximum power along with 205 Nm of peak torque. Coming to the hybrid model of the MPV, which comes equipped with an electric motor, is good for a combined power output of 184 HP. The non-hybrid model is equipped with a CVT gearbox while the hybrid model comes equipped with an e-Drive transmission.
According to the claims made by Toyota, the hybrid version of Innova HyCross can return 23.23 kmpl of mileage while the non-hybrid model is good for 16.13 kmpl. The MPV is available in 7 colour options: Attitude Black Mica, Super White, Platinum White Pearl, Sparkling Black Pearl Crystal Shine, Silver Metallic, Avant Grade Bronze Metallic and Blackish Ageha Glass Flake.
