The recently leaked pictures confirm that the India-spec model of the luxury MPV will be sharing similar design as that of the South Asian version. The Vellfire will be imported as a Completely Built Unit (CBU), the reason it will be getting a high price tag in India.
Talking about the design, the Toyota Vellfire comes equipped with split headlamps with LED DRLs that are integrated on both the lower lights. The MPV also gets sequential turn indicators as well as a thick chrome grille at the front. To enhance the comfort experience, the Vellfire has got all-electric Ottoman full-recline seats, a leather-wrapped multi-function steering wheel, plus the upcoming car features a twin-pod instrument panel. The centre console features the infotainment system as well as the AC controls. There is also a dual moonroof in addition to ventilated seats and individual seat tables. The MPV also gets automatic climate control, ambient lighting, and 7 airbags as standard for safety.
Mechanically, the Toyota Vellfire is available with two engine options in the international markets. The first option is the 2AR-FE 2.5-litre petrol engine, which is good enough to produce 182HP of maximum power along 235 Nm of peak torque. The second option is the 2GR-FKS 3.5-litre petrol engine, which is capable of producing 301HP of maximum power with 361 Nm of peak torque.
The Indian-spec variant of the car is expected to get a hybrid powertrain as standard that will feature an AR-FXE 2.5-litre petrol engine with an optional 2JM and 2FM electric motors. More details on the India-spec model will be revealed at the official launch event of the MPV in October 2019.
