The much-awaited Toyota Vellfire Premium MPV has been launched in India with a price tag of INR 79.50 lakh (ex-showroom, India). The bookings for the car were commenced back in October 2019 and the first 3 shipments of this luxury MPV have already sold out.
The Toyota Vellfire will be available to the customers with the ‘Executive Lounge’ package as standard while it will be brought to the country as a CBU unit. The brand has equipped the Vellfire with two power-operated ottomans in the middle row that are equally ventilated and can be reclined electrically.
Mechanically, the India-spec Toyota Vellfire is available in a single fully-loaded variant that is powered by a petrol-electric hybrid powertrain with a 2.5-litre petrol engine. It is capable of offering a maximum power figure of 150HP while the electric motor is good for 141HP. The combined power offered by the premium MPV stands at 195HP. The engine comes mated to a CVT automatic gearbox.
In addition to this, the India-spec Toyota Vellfire features a dual-sunroof design as well as powered tailgate and sliding doors. The MPV is further equipped with a three-zone automatic climate control system in addition to getting individual tray tables for additional convenience. Coming to the interiors, the brand has equipped the MPV with an aftermarket 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system in addition to dual 10.2-inch screens for the rear passengers and a 360-degree camera. The dual-tone black and beige upholstery further enhance the premium look offered to the MPV.
The primary focus is on the middle-row which gets two large chairs replete with an armrest mounted console. The heated and cooled seats of the Vellfire MPV feature a reclinable backrest, along with an adjustment for the leg-rest angle and length. It has a 13-inch rear entertainment screen that is mounted on the roof, a 17-speaker JBL sound system. The Toyota Vellfire Premium MPV gets 16 colour options for the roof lighting. At this price point, this car rivals Mercedes-Benz V-Class in the Indian market.
