New Toyota Yaris Cross Small SUV Officially Revealed

Toyota Yaris Cross, the smallest SUV in the clan has been recently revealed by the brand in Europe. The brand has based the all-new SUV on the Toyota Yaris hatchback that is available across European countries. The brand further promises that the smallest SUV under its portfolio has been specifically designed keeping in mind the European customers and will get an all-wheel-drive technology equipped to the hybrid power engine.

The SUV measures 4,180mm in length while the wheelbase stands at 2,560mm which is similar to the Yaris hatchback. The brand has equipped the small SUV with authentic Toyota styling with certain bits and pieces borrowed from the Toyota C-HR as well as the recently updated Toyota Harrier. The Yaris Cross will be positioned under the brand’s portfolio below the Toyota C-HR compact SUV.

The overall profile of the SUV imparts it a crossover-inspired outlook while the prominent wheel arches further add to its sporty character. The brand has equipped the SUV with chunkier 18-inch alloy wheels though those are expected to be made available with the highest-spec trim only.

Coming to the cabin details, the SUV has been imparted with fine interior bits complimenting its sporty exterior profile. The cabin further features ambient lighting while the dashboard features a floating infotainment unit. In addition to this, the interior profile of the SUV matches with that offered to the Yaris hatchback. The boot is expected to feature an adjustable cargo floor while the brand is expected to launch it in multiple colour schemes adding to its USP further.

The brand has equipped the Toyota Yaris Cross with a hybrid engine that features a 1.5-litre, three-cylinder petrol unit mated to an electric motor that powers the front-wheel driving system. The small SUV is capable of churning out a maximum power of 116HP while the all-wheel-drive system is activated whenever the sensor detects a loss in the grip while tackling different terrains.

The brand is expected to launch the Toyota Yaris Cross in the European markets followed by other countries at a later stage. Once launched in Europe, the SUV will compete against the likes of Euro-spec Nissan Juke and Renault Captur.
