Yaris is one such model from the Japanese company Toyota that has been weakly retailing in the market since it was first launched back in April 2018. An average sale recorded by the Toyota Yaris between September 2018 up till February 2019 is only 450 units per month. The car has proved to be a black sheep for the brand as it struggles to make numbers whereas other rivals who belong to the same segment manage to sell comparatively well.
According to one of the recent schemes, all the employees of TKM (Toyota Kirloskar Motor) and their family members that include spouses and children, who have been confirmed, will be eligible for special benefits. There are special offers that will be given to these employees like discount offers worth INR 3,50,000 are being given on all MY2018 variants while the 2019 J and G variants are being offered with INR 2,50,000 discount. The offers will be valid as long as the stocks are available and preference will be given on a first-come-first-serve basis.
There is one more benefit where the employee can avail a one time loan worth INR 5 lakh with an interest rate of 0% per annum. Also, they can take a Loan from Toyota Financial Scheme (TFS) at an interest rate of 9.05% for 7 years. Guidelines say that only a limited number of variants and colours will be available for the offer while the car should only be used for personal travel.
Toyota Yaris is the only sedan in its segment that is being offered without a diesel engine option. The petrol model comprises of a 1.5-litre dual VVT-i four-cylinder motor that generates a power of 109 HP and a peak torque of 140 Nm. The engine can be teamed with a 6-speed MT or a CVT gearbox.
