Volkswagen Golf GTI TCR Concept was unveiled internationally. This will be the most powerful GTI ever built for the road and inspiration comes straight from race spec TCR series from Volkswagen.
The grand debut for this concept was held in Austria and more than that, the production version is speculated to arrive as early as end 2018. Golf GTI TCR will claim its place as a segment benchmark with 290HP of maximum power and 370 Nm of smashing torque, that too from 1600 rpm.
The engine will use 7-speed dual clutch transmission as standard. Being a performance loaded front wheel drive car, GTI TCR will also feature a locking differential.
The car comes with 250 kmph of electronically limited top speed. The limiter removal with brings access to even mouthwatering 264 kmph of speed from Golf GTI TCR. The standard variant for this car will feature 18-inch Belvedere alloy wheels.
Those looking for an even sporty look can choose a set of 19-inch wheels through optional accessories. High-performance braking system with perforated discs and ultra-responsive chassis will stay a part of this package as standard. This high performing engine requires more cooling efficiency and thus, two additional radiators are added to Golf GTI TCR.
Those looking for intense driving feel can also choose an optional package with adaptive chassis control and dynamic sports chassis. These features will bring impressive levels of control to the driver. Interior of Golf GTI TCR will feature sports seats with microfiber covers and Flash Red contrast stitching.
This can be found on the seats, steering wheel, gear lever and door panels. A modern digital console and infotainment display makes interior feel premium and usable. Exterior design remains in line with current generation Golf GTI while additional TCR branding can be found on door sills and through puddle lights.
