The all-new Volkswagen T-Roc SUV has started reaching dealerships across the Indian markets. The brand officially launched the CBU model in India back on March 18 this year with an ex-showroom price tag of INR 19.99 lakhs.
Mechanically available in a single-engine option, the T-Roc SUV is powered by a 1.5-litre, four-cylinder, turbo-petrol TSI engine that produces 150HP of maximum power along with 250Nm of peak torque. It comes mated to a 7-speed DSG gearbox as standard. Talking about the performance, the SUV reaches from 0-100kmph in 8.4 seconds and it has a top speed of 205kmph.
Going by the design, the T-Roc looks unique although featuring the signature VW styling all around. It gets large wheel arches, sloping rear windscreen, and rectangular LED elements that reside below the headlamps. The cabin of the car continues to remind you of other Volkswagen models with its fairly conventional dashboard design but it uses coloured inserts to enhance the overall looks.
In terms of safety, the SUV comes loaded with six airbags, ABS with EBD, a parking camera and a tyre pressure monitoring system. As the T-Roc is available in a single trim, it comes in a pack with a fair list of equipment that includes an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system, full-LED headlamps, and taillamps, dual-tone alloy wheels, front and rear parking sensors, a digital instrument cluster, dual-zone automatic climate control, a panoramic sunroof, and Vienna leather seats.
The Volkswagen T-Roc SUV competes with the likes of Kia Seltos, 2020 Hyundai Creta, MG Hector, Nissan Kicks, Renault Captur, and Tata Harrier. The T-Roc is available in six colours – Curcuma Yellow, Energetic Orange, Indium Grey, Ravenna Blue and Pure White, and Deep Black Pearl.
