Volkswagen is trying the best to divert fans away from its notorious act and as they have promised, the work on all-electric cars in on full swing at their headquarters. The target of bringing 15 new cars by 2025 seems to start from this smart looking Volkswagen ID Crozz at 2017 LA Motor Show.
It was first seen in Shanghai and then in Frankfurt before its official debut on the American continent. If Volkswagen is to be believed, production version of ID Crozz can launch as soon as 2020 in the US market. For India, it seems EVs are not so close as expected.
Tiguan sized Volkswagen ID Crozz comes with an 83 kWh battery, making it good enough to bring 320 kilometers under a single charge. Upgrade on the pack can further add 160 kilometers to the total range. The front electric motor puts out 101 HP while rear is good for a maximum of 201 HP. This takes the total power to 302 HP.
The front motor automatically disconnects when one is in relaxed driving mood while loss of traction brings it back to life. Autonomous driving will be fully available by 2025 through Volkswagen Pilot system. They even shares this technology with other two products carrying the same pure electric drive-train.
That ease can be calculated through the amount of money spent initially and cost of spares regarding battery packs. Volkswagen officially called the ID Crozz affordable and if they mean it, another innings for the ‘people’s car’ manufacturer will start in 2020.
