Limited Edition Volkswagen Polo Pace was recently launched in India for INR 6.10 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). This price confirms that no additional cost will be charged to the customer for that addition of 15-inch razor alloy wheels. This alloy design was first seen on Polo Anniversary Edition in India.
The special edition model is available separately with the older engine. Polo Pace, on the other hand, comes powered by 1.0 MPi, three cylinder engine producing 75 HP at 6200 rpm and 95 NM at 3000-4300 rpm. The engine is available with just 5-speed manual gearbox for all variants.
The engine is good for 18.78 kmpl of mileage. This new engine is expected to bring better sales as buyers avoided Volkswagen Polo due to a much lower fuel efficiency number than Indian and Korean brands. They may offer an automatic gearbox in coming months.
Comfortline is a decently loaded variant of Polo as buyers get dual front airbags, ABS, engine immobilizer, anti-glare rear view mirror, front fog lights and adjustable restraints for front seats. This package offers optimum safety and equally loaded feature list. Buyers get Bluetooth enabled music system with four speakers and external support for AUX and SD card.
For those who need Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, Highline trim on Polo comes with touchscreen infotainment system and steering mounted controls. Polo at INR 6.10 lakh offers all door power windows, rear defogger, washer and wiper, speed sensing door locks, sporty steering wheel and ambient lights with theater dimming.
Even the glove-box offered with Volkswagen Polo Pace is cooled for added ease of passengers. Polo rivals Maruti Baleno and Hyundai i20 in its segment. It is heavier than both others and now offers lesser powerful engine for added efficiency, which in turn can backfire for some buyers.
Speaking on the launch of the new trims for the Volkswagen Polo and Vento, Steffen Knapp, Director, Volkswagen Passenger Cars India said, “At Volkswagen, we constantly enhance our product offerings to keep up with the fast changing trends and consumer aspirations. The Polo and Vento have been amongst our best-selling carlines since its inception in the Indian market. Through continuous value additions in our product portfolio, we aim to give our customers the power of choice.”
