Volkswagen Polo and Vento are now being offered with standard dual airbags and ABS across all variants. It is the third manufacturer to bring safety to the front after Toyota and Skoda. The cars are now offering the most important features from the very base Trendline trim. Volkswagen Polo remains exactly the same otherwise while the Vento has introduced the new 110 HP, 1.5 liter diesel engine across its lineup. The engine has also features in the 2017 Skoda Rapid and VW Ameo.
Volkswagen Polo, Vento Gets Standard Dual Airbags & ABS
The cars that will launch in India after October 2017 will need to keep features like dual airbags, reverse parking sensors and ABS as standard. Those which are on sale before the given date need to update all of the cars before October 2018. Although companies have 2 more years to make this thing a reality, doing it before others do can help them in better sales while people would even get familiar with the rise in pricing in coming few months.
Maruti Suzuki currently offers the same as optional while some car makers like Ford has even introduced an optional top spec variant with 6-airbags for maximum protection. They are even selling at a lower point than some most selling cars like Swift, Baleno and i20 Elite. Volkswagen will soon introduce the same 110 HP engine in the Polo hatchback.
