2018 Volvo XC60 was recently launched in India for INR 55.90 lakh (ex-Delhi). The car is available in just Inscription trim and based completely on Volvo’s Scalable Product Architecture. SPA offers the freedom of making multiple products under the same frame, helping Volvo keep cost under check and perform brilliantly before the rivals.
Volvo was selling the old generation model from 2011 in India. Rivals in this segment are Mercedes GLC, BMW X3, Audi Q5 and Jaguar F-Pace. Volvo XC60 looks uber cool and can be best described as a re-scaled version of XC90 in every way. The Volvo diesel engine on offer is 1969 cc in displacement.
It is twin turbocharged for more power and thus, buyers are offered with 235 HP at 4000 rpm and 480 Nm at 1750-2250 rpm. The engine comes mated to an eight-speed automatic gearbox and comes with all wheel drive as standard.
Volvo has another petrol engine internationally but it is not available in India currently. One can expect petrol engine for almost every Volvo car within short period of time in India. Also, the lesser powerful D4 engine tune could also feature once Volvo brings XC60 into local production.
Volvo XC60 looks wider because of reduced overall height than XC90. The front fascia brings signature Volvo headlight, multiple slat grill, lower placed LED fog lights and chrome bumper inserts.
2018 Volvo XC60 measures 4688 mm in length, 1902 mm in width and 1658 mm in height. The car comes with 2865 mm of impressive wheelbase. XC60 is hyper loaded with front heated seats with massage function, 9.0 inch touchscreen system, full view camera, semi automatic parking assistant, blind spot detection and lane departure warning. It even comes with adaptive cruise control.
