Volvo has launched the S90 Sedan in India with a single variant, priced at INR 53.5 lakh (pre-octroi, ex-showroom Mumbai). The luxury wrapped S90 is a replacement to the aged S80 sedan in India, sharing parts with the flagship XC90. The newcomer rivals BMW 5-Series, Mercedes E-Class, Jaguar XF and Audi A6 in the country. The Thor hammer LED lights, front grille and dashboard design is purely shared with Volvo XC90.

The Inscription trim is launched with 2.0 L, D4 diesel engine producing 190 HP and 400 Nm of torque. The more powerful S90 will make it into the country later. It is offered with 8-speed automatic gearbox and front wheel drive option only. The car features all of the luxuries like front seats with memory and ventilation function, drive modes, automatic park assist, four zone climate control, Nappa leather upholstery and hands free operation for tailgate.
The infotainment system used here is a 9 inch touchscreen offering Navigation and Apple Carplay. It also comes with Bowers and Wilkins audio system for premium sound experience. The rear air suspension makes it even more luxurious than ever. Safety is addressed through lane keep assistance, emergency brake assist, ABS, EBD and airbags. Even being a CBU, it has been highly perfectly placed within its rivals. If localized, it can easily beat all others with its host of luxury features.
